Compassionate Leaders Info Session:

Room H106

April 22, 24, or 25, 3:45pm

Dear Parents of BHS,

Compassionate Leaders is a 12-week afterschool program at BHS that
integrates mindfulness techniques, leadership development, and local
service-learning projects to ignite the next generation of enlightened
change-makers. We currently have 12 students in the program who are tackling
prison system issues through a participatory photography project.

Compassionate Leaders benefits students in the program by:

*	Teaching mindfulness techniques that allow students to develop
social and emotional well-being, recognized by researchers as the foundation
for lifelong happiness.
*	Cultivating characteristics and behavior that lead to academic
success in the classroom, such as self-control, sustained motivation,
reduced stress, and ability to focus.
*	Fostering empathetic communication and collaboration between
students that lead to meaningful relationships, positive social interaction,
and interpersonal skills.
*	Empowering students to tackle problems they care about by providing
leadership opportunities to turn their passion and ideas into
service-learning projects that impact their community.

Our goal is to expand the benefits of our program to students across as many
diverse learning communities as possible. We would like to offer students
the opportunity to join this incredible after school program.

Please come to one of our 30 minute info sessions: 3:45pm on April 22, 24,
or 25 at H106 to learn more about the program and how your students can get
involved.
