*ADMINISTRATION:*
1. AP Science Information - Attention all students interested in taking
AP science classes next year. There will be informational sessions at
lunch for the next week. Please plan to attend the meeting on the
appropriate day and hear what current students have to say about the
workload and difficulty of the classes.
The lunch time schedule is:
Tuesday, March 4 - AP Bio G301 and IB Bio G306
Wednesday, March 5 - AP Chem G304
Thursday, March 6 - AP Physics G217
Friday, March 7 - APES G214, IBES G216
2. Art - Like to build things? Want to make cool art? Come take IB
Studio Art- If you are ready for college-level work, and want a class
where you can explore your passions, consider IB Studio Art. It is open
to upcoming juniors or seniors from any learning community at BHS. Talk
to Ms. D'Adamo anytime about the class.
3. Prom is just around the corner -- April 19th will be here soon.
Students with more than 30 unexcused period absences will not be allowed
to attend prom. We have been allowing students who have exceeded that
limit to "buy back" some of their absences by attending tutoring in the
College Career Center or by attending Saturday School. Congratulations
to all juniors/seniors who took part in this program and brought
themselves back into eligibility! The last day for CCC tutoring 'buy
back' will be Thursday, March 6th. And the last day for Saturday School
'buy back' will be Saturday, March 8th.
*LEADERSHIP:*
1. Month of Service - Leadership is hosting service events every Friday
after school throughout March. March is the Month of Service. Come to
the first service event this Friday, March 7th at the Leadership Office
after school. We will be making and passing out sandwiches to the
homeless in Berkeley.
2. Jacket Jam - Starting on February 25th leadership will be selling
tickets for the Jacket Jam. The Jacket Jam is featuring four talented
bands of BHS students: The Blondies, Farro Street, Black Bones and
Callaghan. The Jam will be on Friday, March 7th from 7 to 9 pm in the
Little Theater. Pre-sale tickets are $3 for students and $5 for
non-students. Get your tickets now because tickets at the door will be
$2 more.
3. Berkeley High School Talent Show - auditions are here on March 4, 5,
and 6. If you talent is singing, dancing, live band, comedy, rapping,
etc. sign up for auditions outside of the Leadership Office.
4. Third Annual Service Fair - Teachers and Students! You are invited to
the Third Annual Service Fair on Wednesday, March 5th on the campus
green during 2nd, 3rd and lunch. Clubs that are service oriented and
community groups that are looking for volunteers will be there. Come on
out and get involved in your community.
5. R-Word Day -- Spread the word to end the r-word day is this
Wednesday. Don't say the R-Word.
6. Leadership applications - are now open for all positions. If you
would like to be President, Vice President, School Board Rep, Chief of
Social Activities or Service. The deadline is March 19th. Go to the
Leadership Office for any questions.

**CLUBS: *
1. Berkeley Student Business Group - Are you interested in making money?
Come to the first meeting of the Berkeley Student Business Group and
learn about opportunities to sell your own products to the Berkeley
Community Online. Come to C135 for donuts and a quick info session at
lunch on Tuesday, March 4th or contact Alissa Guther

2. If you would like to participate in the Chicano Latino Graduation
Celebration you must attend a mandatory meeting on Thursday, March 6th
in room G216 at lunch.
3. Willard Mathworks - Do you like math? Then join Mathworks! Come
volunteer to help Willard Middle School students with math and receive
tutoring credits. Just go to Willard on Tuesdays from 4 to 5 pm.

**HEALTH CENTER:*
1. Health Center Support - Students, are you or someone you know feeling
depressed or anxious? Are you concerned about recent events in your life
or community? If you need someone to talk to, remember that the Health
Center is here to support you. Drop in to room H105 to check in with a
counselor.
