ADMINISTRATION
1. Black History Bowl - Students interested in attending the 5th Annual Dr.
Carter G. Woodson Black History Bowl on February 22nd please see Mr. Walton
to sign up.
2. Back-2-Black Week - Come celebrate the legacy & culture of the BHS
African American Studies Department during their annual Back-2-Black Week.
This year they are dedicated to the life and contributions of the late great
Nelson Mandela. Go to the African Dance Studio at lunch for a screening of
"Hidden Colors 2". Bring your permission slips for the Pre-Kwanzaa Potluck
this Friday to H214.
3. Yearbook Sales - Yearbooks are on sale for $70 until January 1st. Get
them online at yearbookordercenter.com or C327 during 7th period.
Free/reduced prices are available in C327. Don't miss out!
SENIORS
Private College Applications - Please come to the College and Career Center
for support on the Common Application. The advisors and essay readers are
available to help with the private college applications and supplemental
essays. CCC hours are 8 AM - 4 PM.
LEADERSHIP
Winter Ball -Winter Ball is coming to Berkeley High on January 31. Winter
Ball 2014 will be your best chance to show off those amazing dance moves.
Tickets for the dance went on sale December 16th. Early bird and discounted
tickets are $15. See you at the ball.
CLUBS
Junior Statesman of America - Are you interested in politics and debate?
Then join the Junior Statesmen of America! They meet every Friday in room
C310 during lunch.
SPORTS
Cheerleaders - JV and Varsity Cheerleaders: there will be a meeting at
lunchtime on Friday in team room J208
PERFORMANCES
Go see "Our Town" the greatest American Play presented by BHS Drama; it
plays Friday and Saturday at 7pm, matinee at 2.
OTHER
Berkeley Public Library - Call for Submissions! Are you an artist, poet,
writer, cartoonist, photographer or graphic designer? The Public Library
would like to feature your art on Berkeley Public Library's new webpage,
which should launch in January 2014. Open to ages 13-19. For more details,
call 510 981-6135 or drop by the 2nd floor reference desk of the Central
Library. You can email a file (doc, png, gif, jpg) to
kaf2 at ci.berkeley.ca.us.
