Obviously most of us were unable to participate in the official celebration
of Nelson Mandela's life, and likewise attending the local events conflicted
with work and school, so our Assembly-member Nancy Skinner wanted to make
sure that our school community knew about this opportunity on Saturday.

 

UC Berkeley and Berkeley Community Gathering

to

Honor Nelson Mandela

Saturday, Dec 14, 3 to 5 p.m.

at Sproul Plaza

 

Music by Kev Choice, Rico Pabon, Oakland Interfaith Gospel Choir, more.
Reflections by campus, community leaders: ASUC President DeeJay Pepito,
Chancellor Dirks, State Assembly Speaker John Perez, Pastor Michael McBride,
more. Ending with candlelight vigil.
