Taste of North Berkeley Event to Benefit Cooking and Garden Program
While the Cooking and Gardening Program (CGP) has become an integral
part of many BUSD schools, the significant loss of federal funding for
health and nutrition programs has resulted in a scaled-back program at
some of our schools.
The BUSD Garden & Cooking Program and the North Shattuck Association are
excited to announce a fall fundraising event to benefit the BUSD Garden
& Cooking Program!
The *Taste of North Berkeley *will take place on *Tues, November 12th,
5:30-8:30 p.m. *along North Shattuck Avenue between Hearst and Rose
(Will Call will be at Shattuck & Vine).
Stroll, sip and taste at Gourmet Ghetto eateries, shops and galleries
while helping to keep garden and cooking alive in Berkeley Public
Schools. A $30 ticket gets you a taste at each of this year's 20
participating eateries and businesses. For a complete list
of participants and to buy your ticket, please visit
www.gourmetghetto.org <http://www.gourmetghetto.org/>. /We are really
counting on a large turnout, so be sure to get your tickets today!/
Our Garden and Cooking Program staff are also looking for volunteers to
serve as restaurant greeters at the event! If interested, please visit:
