* New to the Bulletin today

*ADMINISTRATION*

1.If you placed an order for BART tickets, they are in the Parent 
Resource Center ready for pick up. Please remember that students can 
only pick up Bart tickets DURING LUNCH TIME ONLY...no exceptions.

2.*Come pick up Fall PE Waivers from the Attendance Office.

3.Students can to come to OCI to get their locker assignments before 
school, after school, or at lunch.

4.JAMRS and NCLB Military waivers are available in the front office.  If 
you do not want JAMRS to sell your personal information to the military 
fill out the blue JAMRS opt out form.  Juniors and Seniors, if you do 
not want Berkeley High School to give your information to the military 
as required by law, fill out the NCLB Military waiver. Both JAMRS and 
NCLB Military waivers should be returned to the front office by October 1st.

*Clubs & Activities*

1.Attention CHESS PLAYERS! Are you interested in chess and free 
refreshments?  Come join the BHS Chess Club. Players of all abilities 
including beginners are welcome every Thursday after school in Portable 7.

2.Want to join a unique club at Berkeley High? Then join the Muslim 
Youth Club on Fridays in room C106 at lunch.  All are welcome!

3.* Red Cross Club - The first blood drive is on September 25th. Please 
donate. Sign up in the leadership office and Mr. V will have permission 
slips for students under 16.

4.*Interested in joining a lunchtime guitar class Tuesday, Wednesday and 
Friday? Want to learn guitar and ukulele and get 2.5 credits on your 
transcript? Come to room A05 today or Friday to sign up. You must bring 
your lunch and agree to be on time to your fourth period class. No 
experience necessary.

5.*Have you ever wanted to learn how to knit? Knitting Club welcomes new 
members and provides free supplies from needles to yarns and assistance. 
If you're interested, grab your lunch and head on over to the library on 
Fridays.

6.* Stand and Declare - Do you want to make a difference in the Bay Area 
community? Interested in politics, volunteering, or current events? Want 
your voice to be heard? Come to Stand and Declare Club at lunch today in 
room G103. New members welcome!

7.Berkeley High Health Center's peer health education program, SHIFT 
(sexual health Information from Teens) - needs new members! As a SHIFT 
member you'll learn everything you need to know to educate your peers 
about healthy relationships, decision making, communication and sexual 
health. Make new friends, earn class credit and get some paid work 
experience. All are welcome to apply. Stop by the Health Center to pick 
up an application today! Applications are available in the Health 
Center, room H105. They are due today-- September 20th, before 4 pm.

8.Support the Berkeley High School Jacket Newspaper! Subscription forms 
can be found at the front office. Or subscribe to the Jacket today by 
following this link: http://www.bhsjacket.com/support_the_jacket

Note: past subscribers must renew their subscription to continue 
receiving issues.

*SENIORS*

1.Seniors ONLY! Free SAT Prep classes will be offered Tuesday and 
Thursdays in the College Career Center (D221) from 3:40 to 5:40 PM. Free 
ACT Prep classes will be offered Mondays and Wednesdays in the College 
Career Center (D221) 3:40 to 5:40 PM. For more information go to D221.

2.SENIORS If you are planning to graduate early (in January) you MUST 
submit your "Petition To Graduate Early" form to the Registrar's Office 
by September 30^th . You can get forms in Counseling and the Registrar's 
Office.
