[BHS Etree] SPORTS: Mountain Bike Team Finishes Strong in State Championships

Berkeley High’s Mountain Bike Team finished its season with a bang at the
state mountain bike championships at Stafford Lake in Novato on Sunday, May
19th with BHS rider Sandy Floren taking 4th place in the sophomore division
1 race.  The Berkeley High Team ‘shredded the gnar’ this season with
multiple top ten finishers at races around Northern California.

Berkeley High’s team is the oldest high school mountain bike team in the
country, founded in 1998 by BHS Math teacher Matt Fritzinger. The current
team is nearly 20 riders strong, and will be looking to welcome new riders
of all levels for next year’s season.
