STUDENT DAILY BULLETIN

*New to the bulletin today
 

ADMINISTRATION

1. Return your textbooks to Ms. Fujikawa in the textbook room during lunch or before school, beginning at 8am.  Official textbook collection starts May 28th.  Return your books now to beat the rush!

2. In order to prepare for an electronic health record system, the Health Center will be closed at 3pm from Tuesday, May 21st through Friday, June 7th.  From Monday, June 10th through Friday June 14th, the Health Center will not open until 11 am.  We apologize for the inconvenience.

3 Yearbooks will be sold during lunch all week beginning Tuesday and after school in C327.  Don’t forget to come by and purchase them before they are sold out.  Last thing, the price will only go up so buy one now.

 
SENIORS
 
1. Diplomas will be mailed during the week of July 14, 2013. You will need to provide your SUMMER MAILING ADDRESS if different from the one currently on file at Berkeley  High School. You will need to provide the updated address to the Registrar’s office at lunchtime and after school (ONLY) until 3:45 pm, Monday through Friday from now until June 14, 2013.
 
2. To ensure your Official Final Transcript is mailed out in a timely fashion after final grades are issued you will need to start turning in your request NOW to the Registrar’s office at lunch or after school.  Complete the blue transcript request form write (FINAL) across the top of the form and provide a stamped, addressed business-sized envelope.  DO NOT PUT YOUR HOME ADDRESS AS THE RETURN ADDRESS, leave blank or use the Berkeley High School Address.
 
3.  AC Graduation is happening!  An informal graduation for all AC seniors will be happening on June 4th from 4-6:30pm.  Bring your parents and siblings to this casual event on the campus green!  Last names A-G please bring drinks, H-O please bring sides, P-Z please bring desserts!  We hope to see you all there on June 4th.
 
 
JUNIORS
 
SUMMER SCHOOL - Wednesday, June 19-Friday, July 26th.   Juniors pick up summer school applications from your counselors. 
 

SPORTS
 
1. Fall athletes, your Spring grades determine your eligibility for Fall Sports!  You must have a 2.0 with no more than one F to be eligible.  While summer school can improve your GPA, you cannot turn in late work to change a grade after the Spring semester ends to get eligible.  Now is the time to take care of your academic business so you can play for BHS next fall!
 
2. Attention Boy's Basketball. The boy's basketball program will hold an open gym for all students  Thursday at 5:00 in the Donahue gym. All students interested in playing basketball this summer there will also be a mandatory parent information night Thursday evening at 6:30 in the Donahue gym.

 
EVENTS/PERFORMANCES
 
Actors pay attention - Auditions for the Fall/Winter play “Our Town” began last week in the Drama Room for the Pulitzer-prize winning “Our Town” by Berkeley Alum Thornton Wilder.  Sign up today in the A bldg.
 

OTHER OPPORTUNITIES

Berkeley Public Library: Alateen is Springing up in Berkeley! 11:45 am -12:15pm (during BHS Lunch Period) on 4th Fridays. Those dates are May 24th and June 28th at the Berkeley Public Library 2090 Kittredge St. 3rd Floor Community Meeting Room. Alateen is for young people whose lives have been affected by someone else’s drinking. Great 12 steps of support! Free and Confidential.

2. INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY: If you are interested in environmental issues and have some time this summer for some fun and meaningtful work, this internship is for YOU! The Victory Garden Foundation and City of Berkeley are seeking FOUR inspired, passionate BERKELEY HIGH SCHOOL youth for an exciting summer internship program.
