*New to the bulletin today
 


ADMINISTRATION

1.  Message from OCI:

*         Students need to keep their shoes and shirts on at all times while
on campus.

*         We have noticed an increase in bike thefts. Please be sure to lock
your bikes.

*         Water play is prohibited on campus. Students who choose to
participate in Assassin will face disciplinary consequences in the form of a
suspension

 

*2. The Health Center will be closed Tuesday, May 14th, Wednesday, May 15th
and Thursday, May 16th.  We will re-open at 8:30 am, Friday morning.  We
apologize for the inconvenience.

 

3. Yearbooks will be sold during lunch all week beginning Tuesday and after
school in C327. Don't forget to come by and purchase them before they are
sold out. Last thing, the price will only go up so buy one now.
 


 CLUBS

 

1.  Are you interested in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math?  Join
STEM club!  STEM club will carry out inquiry-based experiments and projects
that are sure to be exciting. Information meeting at lunch on Tuesday, May
14th in Mr. Krefft's room (G302).

*2. The Stewards of the Sea Club is having a bake sale on the Senior Steps
on Wednesday, May 15th at lunch. We will be selling a delectable array of
goodies, including turkey and cheese croissant sandwiches, brownies, and
cookies. Come out and support us!

 

SENIORS
 
1. Diplomas will be mailed during the week of July 14, 2013. You will need
to provide your SUMMER MAILING ADDRESS if different from the one currently
on file at Berkeley High School. You will need to provide the updated
address to the Registrar's office at lunchtime and after school (ONLY) until
3:45 pm, Monday through Friday from now until June 14, 2013.

 

2. To ensure your Official Final Transcript is mailed out in a timely
fashion after final grades are issued you will need to start turning in your
request NOW to the Registrar's office at lunch or after school.  Complete
the blue transcript request form write (FINAL) across the top of the form
and provide a stamped, addressed business-sized envelope.  DO NOT PUT YOUR
HOME ADDRESS AS THE RETURN ADDRESS, leave blank or use the Berkeley High
School Address.

 

*3.  If you are still interested in performing at graduation, you must sign
up with Mr. V in the leadership office before you audition.  Grad auditions
will be held in the Little Theatre on Thursday, May 16th.  Auditions for
Senior Performers will begin at 3:45 pm.

 

 

JUNIORS

 

SUMMER SCHOOL - Wednesday, June 19-Friday, July 26th.   Juniors pick up
summer school applications from your counselors.  

 


SPORTS

 

Fall athletes, your Spring grades determine your eligibility for Fall
Sports!  You must have a 2.0 with no more than one F to be eligible.  While
summer school can improve your GPA, you cannot turn in late work to change a
grade after the Spring semester ends to get eligible.  Now is the time to
take care of your academic business so you can play for BHS next fall!

 

 

EVENTS/PERFORMANCES

 

Dance: African American Dance Production - CARNIVAL. Friday, May 17, 2013 at
7 pm in the Berkeley Community Theater on BHS campus. Students (with ID)

Reserved $12; General $8; Children, Students, Staff, Senior Citizens $5.
Come see artistic dancing combine Modern, Aztec, Hip Hop, African, Fusion,
Praise, Haitian, Persian, Soca plus visuals to help you join the CARNIVAL
celebration.

 


OTHER OPPORTUNITIES

Berkeley Public Library: Alateen is Springing up in Berkeley! 11:45 am
-12:15pm (during BHS Lunch Period) on 4th Fridays. Those dates are May 24th
and June 28th at the Berkeley Public Library 2090 Kittredge St. 3rd Floor
Community Meeting Room. Alateen is for young people whose lives have been
affected by someone else's drinking. Great 12 steps of support! Free and
Confidential.
