*New to the bulletin today
*ADMINISTRATION*
1. SENIORS: Graduation Performance Informational Meeting, Wednesday, May
8th, 3:45-5:15 pm, Little Theater
2. Message from OCI:
· Students need to keep their shoes and shirts on at all times while on
campus.
· We have noticed an increase in bike thefts. Please be sure to lock your
bikes.
· Water play is prohibited on campus. Students that choose to participate
in Assassin will face disciplinary consequences in the form of a suspension
3. Yearbooks will be sold during lunch all week beginning Tuesday and
after school in C327. Don’t forget to come by and purchase them before they
are sold out. Last thing, the price will only go up so buy one now.
*CLUBS*
1. Attention bikers! On Thursday, May 9th, Berkeley high will be hosting
the first Bike to School Day! Come show your support by biking to school
on May 9th and get ton of free sweepstakes (You could even win a new
bike!) If you are interested in volunteering or helping out, come to a
green team meeting! Every Wednesday after school in G216.
2. Applications for next year leadership team have opened! You could be
the next Commissioner of the Arts or even be the Resident DJ? Pick up an
application in the Leadership office. Applications are open now through May
8th.
3. Are you interested in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math? Join
STEM club! STEM club will carry out inquiry-based experiments and projects
that are sure to be exciting. Information meeting at lunch on Tuesday, May
14th in Mr. Krefft’s room (G302).

*1. SUMMER SCHOOL- Juniors pick up summer school applications from your
counselors.

*SENIORS*
1. Attention Seniors: if you missed the cap and gown pick up in April,
Achievers will return on Thursday, May 9th at lunch. Come find Achievers
in the courtyard to purchase anymore graduation items as well on Thursday,
May 9th
*SPORTS*
1. Fall athletes, your Spring grades determine your eligibility for Fall
Sports! You must have a 2.0 with no more than one F to be eligible. While
summer school can improve your GPA, *you cannot turn in late work to change
a grade after the Fall semester ends* to get eligible. *Now* is the time
to take care of your academic business so you can play for BHS next fall!

*EVENTS/PERFORMANCES*
1. Berkeley High's spring musical, “*High School Musical*” continues
Friday, May 10 @7:00 and Saturday, May 11 at 2:00pm and 7:00 pm. Come see
Berkeley High’s twist on this Disney Classic - directed, costumed, and
choreographed by BHS Students. Go Wildcats!
*2. Dance: African American Dance Production- CARNIVAL. Friday, May 17,
2013 at 7pm in the Berkeley Community Theater on BHS campus. Students (with
ID) $5.00. Tickets: www.BrownPaperTickets.com/event/380509, or at Box
Office before show. Reserved $12; General $8; Children, Students, Staff,
Senior Citizens $5. Come see artistic dancing combine Modern, Aztec, Hip
Hop, African, Fusion, Praise, Haitian, Persian, Soca plus visuals to help
you join the CARNIVAL celebration.
*OTHER OPPORTUNITIES*
1. Berkeley Public Library: Alateen is Springingup in Berkeley!
11:45-12:15pm (during BHS Lunch Period) on 4th Fridays. Those dates are
May 24th, and June 28th at the Berkeley Public Library 2090 Kittredge St.
3rd Floor Community Meeting Room. Alateen is for young people whose lives
have been affected by someone else’s drinking. Great 12 steps of support!
Free and Confidential.
2. Sophomores -- Research examining how adolescents think about other
people's moral judgments. Participants will be interviewed on three brief
scenarios. The interview lasts about 15 minutes, and each participant will
receive $5 immediately after the interview. Mondays-Thursdays in C127
after school until 5pm (but can stay later if need be)
*JOBS*
1. Are you looking for life skills and cash? Apply for a job at the Teen
Center! You can join the Teen Task Force to plan fun events, work various
posts in the Teen Center, and start projects out of personal
interest. Come by and pick up an application if this sounds like a job for
you!
