Berkeley High Crew: 2013 Summer Rowing Camps

Established in 2009, Berkeley High Crew's summer rowing program offers local students a chance to try this unique, growing sport with the Berkeley High School Crew Coaches and current team members. This summer, we will be offering programs for new rowers.
Come out and try rowing with us!

Learn-to-Row-Day
Saturday, May 11, 9am - Noon at the Jack London Aquatic Center (115 Embarcadero, Oakland)
A fun and free way for next year’s BHS 9th Graders to try a new sport, and to learn about BHS crew.

Learn-to-Row Camps

New rowers (ages 11 and up): learn the basics from BHS coaches. Enjoy a great experience and prove to yourself that you can row for BHS Crew.

Camp Dates: (sign up for one or more)
Learn-to-Row Camp #1
When: June 17–21, 2013; 12:30-3:30pm @JLAC (limit 30)
Details: For new or inexperienced rowers. This camp will focus on development of basic rowing skills and introduction to rowing in 8 man boats (mostly sweep rowing)

Learn-to-Row Camp #2
When: July 15–19, 2013; 12:30-3:30pm@ JLAC (limit 30)
Details: For new or inexperienced rowers. This camp will focus on development of basic rowing skills and introduction to rowing in 8 man boats (mostly sweep rowing)

Learn-to-Row Camp #3 (for Advanced Beginners and New Rowers)
When: August 12–16, 2013; 12:30-3:30pm @ JLAC (limit 40)
Details: This camp will be split into 2 groups and a coach will approve those who are considered "advanced"
— One group will be comprised of new, inexperienced rowers that will focus on basic rowing skills and introduction to rowing in 8's.
— The other group will be advanced novice level rowers (those who are new to rowing but have attended other rowing camps and have a basic knowledge of the stroke)- this group will focus on advanced technique, rowing in smaller boats, and some physical fitness training.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION:
Registration packet and registration link will be posted soon!

Completed packet, including proof of swimming proficiency, is required by first day.
