*New to the bulletin today
 

ADMINISTRATION

*1. Graduation Performance Informational Meeting, Wednesday, May 8th,  3:45-5:15 pm, Little Theater
 
*2. African American Students who did not pick up their African American Scholars certificates-they will be distributed from the steps of the Community Theater at lunch today, Wednesday May 1.
 
*3. All students who have signed up to take an AP Exam this year, MUST attend a preadministration meeting on either Wednesday, May 1 or Thursday, May 2. The sessions will start at 3:45 in the Community Theatre. You will fill out information required on your first answer sheet and will receive your AP booklet with your AP number. The session will last until approximately 5 p.m. Please be prompt. Bring a number 2 pencil and a book or clipboard to write on.

*4. JAZZ: Congratulations to Liam Collins, Hugo Shiboski, Sam Klein-Markman, Michael Orenstein, Max Schwartz and Marcelo Bourque-Perez for winning the high school combos division at the Reno Jazz Festival this weekend. More accolades:  Michael Orenstein was chosen to perform in the festival's all-star combo, and Hugo Shiboski was honored with the award for best saxophone soloist. Go Jackets!
 
5. Don’t forget to purchase this year’s yearbook!  Don’t get left out!  Seniors can get their Freshman and Senior yearbooks for $100, or their Freshman, Sophomore and Senior yearbooks for $150 in C327 after school.
 

 CLUBS

*1. Applications for next year leadership team have opened!  You could be the next Commissioner of the Arts or even be the Resident DJ?  Pick up an application in the Leadership office. Applications are open now through May 8th.
 
*2. Are you interested in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math?  Join STEM club!  STEM club will carry out inquiry-based experiments and projects that are sure to be exciting. Meetings will be at lunch on Mondays in Mr. Krefft’s room.  Come check it out!
 

SENIORS
 
*1. Senior prom is this Saturday evening and we want to crown a new Prom King and Prom Queen.  Pick up a nomination form when you buy prom tickets this week on the Senior steps.  Tickets are now $90.  It’s going to be a great evening of fun, and dancing with your friends.


SPORTS

*1. For all 9th and 10th graders next year who want to play football.  New or old players you must meet in the weight room today, May 1st at 3:30 pm after school.


EVENTS

*1. High School Musical opens this Thursday night, May 2 - Come see Berkeley High’s twist on this Disney Classic - directed, costumed, and choreographed by BHS Students.  Go wildcats!  Opening nights is pay what you can - show plays until May 11th.
 
 
OTHER OPPORTUNITIES

1. Berkeley Public Library: Alateen is Springing up in Berkeley! 11:45-12:15pm (during BHS Lunch Period) on 4th Fridays. Those dates are April 26th, May 24th, and June 28th at the Berkeley Public Library 2090 Kittredge St. 3rd Floor Community Meeting Room. Alateen is for young people whose lives have been affected by someone else’s drinking. Great 12 steps of support! Free and Confidential.

*2. Who: Sophomores  -- Research examining how adolescents think about other people's moral judgments. Participants will be interviewed on three brief scenarios. The interview lasts about 15 minutes, and each participant will receive $5 immediately after the interview.  Mondays-Thursdays in C127 after school until 5pm (but can stay later if need be)
