*New to the bulletin today

 
ADMINISTRATION


1. Star Testing - April 23-26th. Remember- seniors report to school at
lunchtime.  Schedule:

Monday: NO testing. (9:57 - 3:30) regular LATE START Day

Tuesday: ELA Part 1 and 2 (8:30 - 12pm), lunch, classes begin at 12:56pm:
periods 4,5,6

Wednesday: Math Part 1 and 2 (8:30 - 12pm), lunch, classes begin at 12:56pm:
periods 4,5,6

Thursday: Science (8:30 - 11:35), lunch, Science Part 2, classes begin at
1:37pm: period 2,3,1. Only students enrolled in Advanced Biology, Chemistry
or Physics will be testing this day.

Friday: History Part 1 and 2 (8:30 - 11:05), lunch, classes begin at
12:01pm: period 2,3,1. Freshmen do not test in the morning.



*2. Health Center:  Testing--My way of respecting my partner.Are you
sexually active? Are you with a partner who's a Berkeley high, B-Tech, or
Independent Studies student? If so, enter the health center's raffle for
free movie tickets or lunch, get tested, and know your STI status! April is
STI awareness Month, and to educate students about sexually transmitted
infections the health center is offering couple's testing appointments. Drop
by to H105 by April 30 with your partner to make an appointment and win fun
prizes. We'll see you soon!

 

4. The African American Studies Department of Berkeley high School Invites
you to attend a celebration honoring our African American Scholars. Please
join us in honoring 211 African American students who earned a 3.0 or higher
first semester on Tuesday, April 23, 2013. BHS Little Theater 7:00-8:30pm

5. Don't forget to purchase this year's yearbook!  Don't get left out!
Seniors can get their Freshman and Senior yearbooks for $100, or their
Freshman, Sophomore and Senior yearbooks for $150 in C327 after school.

 


OCI DEPARTMENT

 

*1. Hey you guys, do you remember that Anti-Smoking Contest going on a few
weeks ago where you could win up to $100 ? Well Guess what?!

.         Alexander Louther won first place- $100 VISA Gift Card

.         Second Place went to Ezzie DeGiovanni with a $50 VISA Gift Card

.         Third Place went to Katy Plowwright with a $25 Visa Gift Card

 

Whoop Whoop!!! There were several other entries - all great but these three
won! Remember, the next time there's a contest with a chance to win FREE
Money - enter it! Way to go and

remember, Be Tough, Don't Puff!!

 

*2. Hey this is OCI just reminding if you haven't already done so, download
the tracking application for your cell phone. Be mindful of your belongings-
and remember, nothing seen means nothing stolen. Keep your values safe by
keeping them put away.

 


SENIORS

 

1. PROM TICKETS- sales will take place all week (April 22-26) ONLY after
school in the leadership office. Price is $85.00, cash only please. Juniors
and Seniors pick up your tickets before the prices increase.  Also, Seniors
pick up your forms to nominate prom royalty.

 

2. ATTENTION Teachers and seniors, the mandatory meeting for the Class of
2013 has been moved to April 22. This coming Monday administration will
provide guidelines and important dates for graduating seniors.





LEADERSHIP

 

*1. Today is voting day! Students please take your time when choosing the
next team of representatives of your voices, opinions, and idea's. Teachers
should distribute the ballots during 2nd period. Thank you for participating
in the leadership election.

 

2. Applications for next year leadership team have opened! You could be the
next Commissioner of the Arts or even be the Resident DJ? Pick up an
application in the Leadership office. Applications are open now through May
8th.

 

	

 

OTHER OPPORTUNITIES


1. Berkeley Public Library: Alateen is Springing up in Berkeley!
11:45-12:15pm (during BHS Lunch Period) on 4th Fridays. Those dates are
April 26th, May 24th, and June 28th at the Berkeley Public Library 2090
Kittredge St. 3rd Floor Community Meeting Room. Alateen is for young people
whose lives have been affected by someone else's drinking. Great 12 steps of
support! Free and Confidential.
