This week marks the beginning of the math placement tests for students
coming into Berkeley High School in the fall of 2013. Math placement will
be determined by teacher recommendation, grades in current math class, and
the math placement test. Students interested in placing into an honors
level will take an additional test following the first.

The test will be offered on the following days:

Longfellow students: Tuesday, April 9

Willard students: Thursday, April 11

New to BUSD (3 p.m. BHS library): Monday, April 15

King students: Tuesday, April 16

New to BUSD (3 p.m. BHS library): Tuesday, April 23

King, Longfellow, and Willard students please ask your current math teacher
for time and placement.

Calculators are not needed for the general test or the Honors Geometry test.
Calculators are needed for Honors Algebra II. The test lasts 45 minutes
(add on 15 minutes for instructions). The honors test which follows is an
additional 45 minutes.

Students coming from independent schools should ask their current math
teacher to make a recommendation. BUSD students do not have to ask their
teachers as it will be done automatically. Independent school math teachers
should go to https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/GKPVX2 for the survey. Parents,
it is up to you to contact your students' math teacher. Thank you!
