All Berkeley Unified School District elementary schools provide a rich variety of visual and performing arts experiences for Kindergarten through fifth grade students, and students continue to develop artistic skills in middle school arts electives and after school classes. Berkeley High School offers a broad range of arts classes including Ceramics, Photography, Computer Art, AP Studio Art, Afro-Haitian Dance, Modern Dance, Drama, Advanced Theater Projects, Band, Orchestra, Jazz Band and AP Music Theory.

The Annual Performing Arts Showcase brings students from across the District to perform and demonstrate how successful the program is, and this year was great. In one afternoon over 2,000 students, parents, extended families and community members had the opportunity to witness the development of students from their second year in band and orchestra (5th grade), to Berkeley High’s most seasoned students.

Student chorus, bands, orchestras and jazz bands, grades 5-12 performed, and you can see photos of the event with the link below. Note: You can down your student’s photos by clicking on the photo, select “Original Size”, then select “Download Original Size” and it’s yours!

Video of the performances will be available soon!
