BHS PARENTS, TEACHERS AND STUDENTS
ADHD is a lifelong disorder, and the symptoms can change with age. On
Saturday March 30th the BHS Parent Resource Center will sponsor a workshop
on Understanding ADHD. Amy Cheifetz of the Northern California Chapter of
C.H.A.D.D. (Children and Adults with Attention- Deficit/Hyperactivity
Disorder) will present a 11/2 hour presentation on ADHD, its symptoms,
problems and challenges that students and their families face at home,
school and in relationships on a daily basis. She will also discuss in
detail solutions for students diagnosed with ADHD followed by a Q & A
period.
Rounding out the morning session of the workshop, Ann MCDonald-Cacho with
the Disability Rights Education and Defense Fund (DREDF) will answer:
On what are protections for students with disabilities?
How to request school district evaluations for your child
What is the Individualized Education Program?
What is A 504 Plan?
Does a student struggling with attention and behavior have any protection in
school discipline?
AND MUCH! MUCH! MORE....
