*New to the bulletin today

 

ADMINISTRATION

 

*1. Presidents Weekend Holiday - No classes Friday, February 15 and Monday
February 18.

 

2. For 9th-11th graders - you should receive a new catalog through your
history teacher and a list of the new courses for next year.  Come to the
courtyard Wednesday, February 13 at lunch to find out more about the new
courses or talk to a counselor about your options.

 

3. Mathworks!  Today at 4pm at Willard Middle School on Telegraph Ave.  It's
a great tutoring opportunity for anyone.  We look forward to seeing you
there!

 

4. BSEP Applications are available! Pick one up or get it online. Deadline
for the Applications is February 25, 2013 at 12 noon.


  
LEADERSHIP
 
1. For the Month of Service, BHS Leadership will be holding a drive to
collect supplies for the local youth Homeless Shelter.  This is a great way
to give back.  Stop by the leadership office and donate socks, underwear,
toothpaste, toothbrushes, or deodorant.  Any donation will help.

 
CLUBS

*1. Hey ladies, how do you feel about putting a stop to female oppression?
Come and dance for the One Billion Rising movement this Thursday
(Valentine's Day) afterschool at 3:30 pm. There will be a flashmob at the
park. If interested, contact Tara White through school email. 

 

2. IB Sophomore leadership is selling smoochie grams in the C building
gallery at lunch for 25 cents! Send that special person a personal note
stamped with a heart and kiss to be delivered on Valentine's day!

 

3. Are you excited for Valentine's day?  Well guess what?  The Muslim Club
and Alana will be giving Henna Tattoos on the senior steps on Valentine's
Day.  So bring your friends and get some beautiful Henna Tattoos and
delicious sweets.  Please come and support our community.

 

4. It's back!  The American Math competition will be on Wednesday, February
20th.  Come one, come all to the practice sessions at lunch in H216.
Tuesday, February 12th, Thursday, February 14th, and Tuesday, February 19th.

 

5.  Sign up in the Leadership office. Be a leader and get involved with the
school leadership program.  Become a Vice-President, President or come up
with a new position.  Applications have opened for leadership positions for
next year.  Grab one now through March 1st in the leadership office!

 

6. Hey club leaders! Are you tired of the same old bake sale?  Are you in
need of new members? Well Your savior is Berkeley High's second annual
Service Fair on March 8th. Promote your awesome club, recruit, fresh faces,
and fundraise by selling cool swag.  

 

 
SPORTS
 

1.  Berkeley High Women's crew team is recruiting!  There will be baked
goods available on the senior steps on February 19th.  Come enjoy some
cookies while learning about the fun of rowing!

EVENTS / PERFORMANCES

 

1. Opening night of Berkeley High School's production of the Vagina
Monologues is today, February 14th!  Come support young women at Berkeley
high as they perform this humorous, inspiring play.  100% of proceeds will
go to women's charities. Performances are February 14, 15, 22 and 23 at 7pm
in the Little Theater.  Buy Tickets at the door or online at

*2. Do you want to learn about West Africa? Be entertained by the
Afro-Haitian dance class? If yes, then go down to the Little theatre on
February 20th during 5th and 6th period.

 

  

 

TEEN SERVICES

*1. Black Girls CODE is a non-profit organization dedicated to teaching
girls ages 7-17 from underrepresented communities about computer programming
and digital technology. Their mission is to empower and mentor young women
of color by highlighting the achievements of women in technology and thereby
encourage them to embrace the tech marketplace as builders and creators.

Tues. Feb. 19th from 6:00-8:00 PM at HUB Oakland, 55 Harrison St.  Learn
about Black Girls CODE 2012 impact and 2013 goals and events while enjoying

2. Make art? Come showcase your art at the Teen Center!  There will be an
