*2. BSEP Applications are available! Pick one up or get it online. Deadline
for the Applications is February 25, 2013 at 12 noon.

3. PSAT Results: PSAT score reports have arrived and are ready for
distribution. Students can retrieve your score reports from the
College/Career center (D221) during lunch or after school from 3:30-4:00 pm.
Students must bring your school ID or another form of identification, and
you may only pick up your personal score report.

JUNIORS/SENIORS

*Financial Aid "Cash for College" workshop - today, January 23, 2013 from
6:30 to 8:30 pm. In the Berkeley High School Library. At this workshop,
seniors and parents/guardians will receive hands on support with completing
financial aid applications. At least one lucky senior who attends this
workshop will receive a $1,000- $2,000 scholarship! Additional scholarship
applications will also be available.

LEADERSHIP

1. Hey! come sign up to donate blood at lunch Friday at the senior steps.
The Red Cross Blood Drive will take place at Berkeley High, January 30th.
If you are 16 and thinking of donating, please come pick up a parental
consent form or download from online at  <http://redcrossblood.org/>
redcrossblood.org  We can all save lives, the decision is yours.

2. Hey students, Do you appreciate your teachers or any staff members?
Don't know how to tell them?  This is what you can do..tweet your favorite
teachers name and a positive message with the hashtag#BHSstaff13.  We will
show your messages at our staff appreciation next week .

3.  Applications have opened for leadership positions for next year.  Grab
one now through March 1st in the leadership office!

SPORTS

1. Attention all athletes and their families, A new shipment of letters for
Letterman Jackets has arrived. They are for sale in the Athletic Director's
office (J207, in the new stadium). The best time to come purchase letters is
during lunch and right after school.

2. It's almost Badminton Season.  For students who are interested in trying
out for BHS Badminton team there will be a mandatory interest meeting
Friday, January 25, at 1:00 pm in the Food Court.  Contact Skye
VanValkenburgh at  <mailto:skyemvan at yahoo.com> skyemvan at yahoo.com with any
questions or concerns.

4. Girls Lacrosse Team - Parent Meeting with Coaches. Wednesday, February
13th at 7:00 pm in the Parent Resource Center - D224.

EVENTS / PERFORMANCES

Dante Ryan and David Marcus, members of the Freshman class and their band,
The Newcomers, will be having a gig on Friday, February 8th at Slims, a club
in San Francisco from 8-11pm. Tickets are $13.  Come to hear and support
local music. More info can be found on the Newcomers Facebook page or on
the Slims website.

MISC.

Students, want to audition and tryout for "2013 Talent Hunt" hosted by the
