The Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test (PSAT) sign-ups will run for two weeks (Sept. 24 to Oct. 5). The test itself will take place on Saturday, Oct. 20. The sign up week is for Juniors and the second week for those Juniors who forgot and for Sophomores. Sign ups will take place in the Donahue Gym ticket Office during lunch and after school. Parent help is needed week two during lunch time. If you can help, please contact Janet at janethuseby at berkeley.net

This test is highly recommended for Juniors as a practice for the SAT and because those with very high scores may qualify for National Merit Scholarships. Sophomores may also use the test as a practice.

Sign-ups will begin Monday, September 24 during lunch (the ticket office will close ten minutes before the bell rings) and after school until 4 p.m. for Juniors. The registration fee is $22. There are 20 fee waivers allowed for BHS Juniors on a first-come first-served basis. The reduced fee is $5. There is no fee reduction allowed for sophomores who may sign up the first week in October. Registration will be at the ticket windows for the Donahue Gym.

Payment may be in cash or by check payable to Berkeley High School.

This year the PSAT will be administered at Berkeley High on Saturday, Oct. 20. Students will report to the garden adjacent to the C building at 8 a.m. for room assignments. The test with breaks and instructions takes about three hours. Students should bring a photo ID, several number 2 pencils, a calculator, and a snack to be consumed during the scheduled break
