A free college planning and SAT/ACT test prep workshop is being offered by UC Berkeley’s PTPS (Peoples Test Preparation Service ptps.org )


The workshop will be held at the YMCA-PG&E Teen Center in Berkeley on Saturday July 21, from 10 AM until noon.

This two-hour workshop, which is intended for Berkeley High students and their families, will be conducted by Raymond Barglow, Ph.D. and Cynthia Robey, MBA, and will explain:

1. Building your resume to bring out the unique qualities that differentiate you in the admissions process. Whether you are a rising sophomore, junior, or senior, resume development is an essential part of the college planning process.  

2. The differences between the SAT and the ACT. Knowing these differences will help you decide which test you should take.

3. Strategies for answering SAT and ACT questions correctly.

Raymond Barglow, Ph.D. is an SAT/ACT tutor and has taught at UC Berkeley and at Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut. Cynthia M. Robey, MBA is a member of the UC Berkeley Freshman Reader’s Program. She is also a certified counselor of college-bound students.
