EVENTS
A number of Berkeley public school mothers, Berkeley High Students, groups from Oakland, and others, are working on what will be an amazing family-friendly public ritual in honor of girls and women on Sunday, June 24 at 6pm at the Berkeley Civic Center Park across from Berkeley High. Eve Ensler (creator of the renowned Vagina Monologues who has spearheaded V-Day: www.vday.org) will be there, among other performers helping to lead the event. This event is appropriate for all ages, but particularly middle school and high school girls and up. Anyone who has a daughter, or who supports women and girls, should check out the event website BayAreaRising.org and sign up for updates. We haven't really seen anything like this before here. Please check it out! Others involved include Dance Brigade's Grrrl Brigade, Studio Naga, and IDEX and a host of amazing performers, community activists and healers. www.BayAreaRising.org
