On Thursday, April 19 in the Little Theater the 3rd Annual BHS Election
Convention was held. This spectacular event includes delegates from nearly
every 9th-11th grade social studies (about 260 were present this year,
broken down into all US states and territories) to carefully listen and
question the candidates for high positions in BHS student leadership.
Here are pictures taken by District Public Information Officer, Mark Coplan:

After a variety of creative nomination speeches, highly engaging Q&A
sessions, closing statements from candidates and a vote of the delegates
below are the results of this "primary vote." Now, candidates for these
offices will have two weeks to campaign before the entire student body votes
on May 2.
The Convention is meant to be a grand school-wide educational experiment
with the very real aim of having the truly most qualified candidates for
office winning the job, overcoming the typical popularity contests we tend
to see in high school elections politics. The results of the primary vote
are released to the entire student body as just one piece of information for
them to consider as they make informed decisions about who is best for each
job.
