BHS Parent Resource/Support Group focusing on Communicating with our Teens about Alcohol and Marijuana

Tuesday evenings: 6:45 -8:30PM in the Parent Resource Room – D 224 BHS Adm Bldg.

We are offering a safe space to talk about our own issues as parents, to listen to each other and to gain different perspectives as we navigate our children's experiences in alcohol and drug use. What is our responsibility as parents and how do we set limits and communicate with love and caring?

Karen Hughes is an alcohol prevention specialist at UC Berkeley Health Center and brings a multitude of resources. Each week she will present a tip for better communication with our teen. Annie Tyson works for Hand in Hand Parenting and will offer tools for closeness and connection with our children.

This is a drop in group and open to anyone dealing with alcohol/drug issues with their BHS student. Please try to arrive on time and we are asking for a $10-$20 donation. Our goal is to help us learn to listen effectively, communicate honestly and assist our teens in making good decisions about drug and alcohol use. Please join us!
