Volunteer Opportunity!!!! Assistant Youth Basketball Coach

Are you a sports-minded Junior or Senior seeking to gain experience coaching
children in school and community settings? Maybe you have previous
basketball experience and would like to learn the game's finer details. If
so, then East Bay United can provide you with the opportunity to become an
assistant youth basketball coach.

East Bay United is a nonprofit organization that uses the medium of sports
to promote healthy living, community activism, and violence prevention.
Based in Berkeley and active throughout the East Bay, EBU's AAU youth
basketball club is committed to developing well-rounded student athletes. If
you volunteer as an assistant coach, we will support your development as an
instructor and mentor. Through this experience, you will gain invaluable
knowledge and referrals.

This position requires a commitment of 4 hours per week (Tues. and Thurs.
5:30-7:30 at Willard School), plus one weekend tournament per month for a
minimum of 3 months. Candidates should have knowledge of basic basketball
fundamentals, strong academic performance, and an interest in working with
youth.

To apply: Send letter of introduction and availability to
