Truancy Letters

Notifications of Truancy have been sent and will continue to be sent for the
duration of the school year. In order to avoid receiving truancy letters,
please remember to contact the attendance office with a valid excuse to
clear absences within five school days of your child's return to school.* 

 

First Notifications of Truancy will be sent to parents of students who have
been absent from school without valid excuse for more than any 30-minute
period during the school day without a valid excuse on three occasions in
one school year. 

 

Second Notifications of Truancy will be sent to parents of any student who
has once been reported as a truant (sent the First Notification of Truancy)
and who continues to be absent from school without a valid excuse one or
more days without valid excuse. If after that the student continues to be
absent without a valid excuse they will be sent a Third Notification.

 

Second and Third Notifications require the parents and student to attend a
meeting. The most current meeting schedule is listed below:


Second Notification Meeting

Monday, 12/12/11 at 9:00 AM in Room D220

 

Third Notification Meeting

Monday, 12/5/11 at 9:00 AM in Room D220

 

*If you would like to clear absences or have questions/concerns please call
your student's attendance staff person listed below.
