Would you like to work with a team of girls to develop your own mobile phone
application?

Join the Technovation Challenge! In this all-girls mentoring program, you'll
learn programming skills using the Google App Inventor for Android
<http://appinventor.googlelabs.com/about/> . You will work with your team
to develop a prototype, business plan and marketing scheme for your app.
Each team will have a female high-tech mentor to give you insight into your
career opportunities in the industry, and guide you as you develop your
project. The course will culminate in a "Pitch Night" where you'll pitch
your product to industry leaders and venture capitalists to win prizes. The
winning team from National Pitch Night will have their app professionally
developed, and distributed on the Google Marketplace!

Program Details:

*	Courses are happening in NY, LA, SF, Mountain View, San Jose,
Oakland and Berkeley this spring
*	Courses run for ten weeks, from February to April
*	Teams will visit a high-tech company for instruction once per week
in the evenings after school (exact dates and times TBD)
*	During the rest of the week, you'll work with your team after school
with the help of a teacher "coach"
*	No prior programming experience is expected or required

There are 6 coaches at Berkeley High School: Beverly Berning, Claudia
Gonzalez, Kate Garfinkel, Peter Rodrigues, Sherry Albrink, and Kate Trimlett
