SENIORS

It's not too late to see your college counselor - make an appointment in the
CCC.

Submit your College Application List for Regular and Rolling Admissions
(blue form in the senior college packet) into the College|Career Center
immediately. If you are applying only to UCs, CSUs, or community colleges,
you do not need to turn in the blue form.

Financial Aid Night - Wed., November 16, 6:30 pm in the BHS Library (for
senior parents).

College Essay Readers Available: Essay readers are available to help BHS
seniors with their college application essays -- from the UC personal
statement to the Common App.

No appointment is necessary. Readers will be available before school most
days, lunch every day and after school every day except Friday in the
College|Career Center or Library.

COLLEGE APPLICATIONS

Submit all CSU applications by Nov. 30. Website for information about
impacted campuses or majors: http://www.calstate.edu/SAS/impactioninfo.shtml

UC applications must be submitted by Nov. 30. Do not wait until the end of
November to file either your CSU or UC application. Servers get overloaded
and very slow at the end of the month.

The Common Application is available on the website http://www.commonapp.org
The Common Application essay word limit this year is set at 250-500 words.
For the first time this year, BHS is submitting counselor letters of
recommendation (Secondary School Report) and transcripts online for the
Common App. It is important that students fill out the School Form
information on the Common Application.

*If you are applying to a school that does NOT use the Common Application,
please follow the instructions for submitting transcripts, recommendations,
etc. via the mail found in the senior college application handbook - Section
9, starting on page 41. If you can't find your copy of the handbook,
remember that there is an online version on the college section of the BHS
website. Note that postage rates have increased since the handbook was
printed.
