Dear BHS Community Members,

The BHS Student Activities program is trying to raise money to support its
many efforts to serve the school community (see details below).

We've teamed up with Papa John's on Shattuck Avenue, which is highly popular
amongst students, to have 20% of their sales go towards the activities
program between the hours of 3pm-10pm next Tuesday and Wednesday, October 18
and 19.

The best way for parents to support us would be to purchase pizzas using our
pre-order forms, which we can send via email upon request. The forms can
also be picked up at the front desk or the Leadership Office. Pre-orders
can be made at no charge, the buyer agreeing to pay upon delivery or pickup
at a specified time.

Also parents can call or walk in to make an order anytime between 3pm-10pm.
Just be sure to say, "This order is for Berkeley High School." The number
for Papa John's is 510.845.7272.

Thank you so much for your support!

INFO ABOUT BHS STUDENT ACTIVITIES

The BHS Student Activities program includes student leadership and all 70-90
student-run campus clubs and organizations. Every year nearly all students
are touched in some way by the Student Activities program and students put
in thousands of hours to support great causes. Blood drives, the Holiday
Meal, cultural or "issues" assemblies, student activism, club sports,
dances, disaster relief funds, graduations, and countless other projects are
the work of the student activities program - essential learning for today's
youth in becoming tomorrow's leaders.

The program specifically needs money to pay for special guest speakers and
performers for educational programming (ex: capoiera dancers for our "BHS
World" celebration show), to buy tools and materials for

building, publicity, and event purposes (ex: a ladder, wood, shade/rain
tents, or microphones), to pay for workshops (ex: "Breaking Down the Walls"
community-building day), to develop a student-generated scholarship and
grant-giving fund (ex: money to help students pay for international trips or
college tuition) and tens of other projects that ultimately serve the BHS
student community in powerful ways.
