Don't forget to vote for your the School Site Council and Berkeley Schools
Excellence Project (BSEP) Parent Representatives at Back to School Night!  

Come by the voter's table set up on the Berkeley Community Theatre steps to
pick up a ballot and vote, any time between 6:30 pm and 9:30 pm on Thursday,
September 22.

The candidate statements are posted online at
http://www.bhs.berkeleypta.org, and there will also be copies available
tomorrow night in English and Spanish.  

All parents and guardians of current Berkeley High School students are
eligible to vote.  One vote per parent/guardian (no matter how many children
you have!)

You'll complete your ballot, and then write your name, your child's name,
and their grade and SLC affiliation on the voter envelope.  Your vote is
anonymous.the envelopes are checked against a student list and then
separated from the ballot before tallying.  

If you are unable to attend Back to School Night, you may give your "proxy"
to your spouse, partner, or friend.  The person with your proxy must also
correctly complete the voter envelope on your behalf.  If you are bringing
in a proxy vote, please do not deliver more than your own vote plus one
proxy, and only if you have been explicitly authorized to do so.

http://www.bhs.berkeleypta.org.

You do not need to be a member of the PTSA to be eligible to vote.   The
PTSA will be overseeing the vote tallying, together with a volunteer from
the League of Women Voters.  

 

Please do pick up a membership form for the PTSA at the ballot table so that
you can support the activities of the PTSA, including newsletters, community
forums, and parent education.  And you can still volunteer to help the PTSA
with the afore-mentioned activities by going to:
