Check out all the exciting programs happening at the YMCA-PG&E Teen Center
this year and register now as spaces are filling fast! To register, go to

or "Register for Programs", or stop by the Teen Center.

 

.           Higher Learning Program (fee-based/financial assistance
available) - courses start October 

Services include: ACT/SAT Reasoning Test Preparation classes, weekly math
and science study group sessions, daily drop-in group academic assistance,
and much more! 

 

.           Photography Workshop (fee-based/financial assistance available)
- starts 9/21, 4-6pm

Taught by a professional/working photographer, teens have the opportunity to
learn how to take photographs, produce images, create their own photography
portfolio, and much more!

 

.           Journalism Workshop (fee-based/financial assistance available) -
starts 10/17, 4-6pm

Taught by a professional journalist, teens will have the opportunity to
learn what it takes to cover a story and get it published, develop writing &
communications skills, explore different types of journalism that will
translate into media careers, and much more!

 

.           Poetry Writing Workshop (fee-based/financial assistance
available) - starts 10/18, 5-7pm

Taught by a professional poet, teens will have the opportunity to learn
poetry writing skills, work in a supportive and cooperative space, explore
methods of healing through poetry, and much more!

 

.           Y-Scholars (FREE) 

Services include: weekly workshops covering topics ranging from study skills
to college exploration, mentoring, college tours, social events, and much
more!

 

.           Interact Club (FREE) - 1st Interact Meeting is 9/15, 4-5pm

Interact members will develop leadership skills, personal integrity, and a
greater understanding of their community and the world. Members will work
with Rotary and Rotaract to put on service events. Interact Club also
sponsors social activities and offers opportunities for scholarships and
summer leadership camps.

 

.           Smart Money Workshops (FREE) - starts 9/26, 6-7pm

Teens have the opportunity to develop skills that will allow them to make
informed decisions regarding their personal finances and may also be
eligible for a savings incentive upon completion of the workshop.

 

.           Young Entrepreneurs Program (FREE) - Informational meeting on
10/6, 6:30-7:30pm

Young Entrepreneurs Program is a great opportunity to: learn more about the
world of business, create an actual small business plan, use your
creativity; gain communication, leadership and business skills, and much
more! 

 

.           Career Panel Series (FREE) - 1st panel starts 10/11

The Career Panel Series is an ongoing panel composed of professionals from
different career paths that will provide teens with information on how to
get to where they want to go, career-wise.

 

.           C.A.R.T. Internship (FREE) - 1st meeting starts 10/19

In the C.A.R.T. (Career Advancement Resources & Training) Internship
Programs, teens will learn job training skills, how to write a perfect
resume, and so much more! Participants may be eligible for a stipend
incentive upon completion of the program.

 

.           Youth & Government (fee-based/financial assistance available)

Y & G is a model legislature and court program offered to high school
students grades 9-12. Teens will learn how to write legislation on issues
they care about, make friendships that will last a life-time, and much more!
