The Introductory College Level Experience in Microbiology (iCLEM) program
is an 8-week paid research internship program for exceptionally motivated
high school sophomores and juniors (current grade) with an interest in
biotechnology.  The program takes place at the Joint BioEnergy Institute
in Emeryville from June 21 through August 11, 2011. 

The application deadline is March 1.

Students must be US citizens or permanent residents and be 16 years of age
by June 1, 2011. Students' family incomes must be $60,000 or below.  iCLEM
students typically have taken Algebra 1 and basic high school biology.
Students who are willing to work hard, ask questions, talk to an
instructor when they are experiencing difficulties, and come to work every
day will thrive in this program.
