Harassment related to race, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity,
ethnicity, religion or disability is not allowable under the law, and
neither is sexual harassment or any form of bullying for whatever reason.

 

The Berkeley High School PTSA presents a Forum for Parents and Students
"Harassment and Bullying" co-sponsored by the Berkeley High School Safety
Committee and the Gay-Straight Alliance on Wednesday February 16, 2011,
7-9pm in the Berkeley High School Library, Allston Way at Milvia, Berkeley.

 

Introductory remarks will be made by the Gay-Straight Alliance and Pamela
Harrison-Small, BUSD Supervisor, Culturally and Linguistically Responsive
Systems.  

 

Presentations will be made by outside speakers: 

 

*         Nina Simone Grotch, Education Director, Anti-Defamation League
(ADL) Central Pacific Region will discuss Harassment and Bullying

 

*         Dan Siegel, civil rights attorney, former General Counsel for the
Oakland Unified School District, counsel in numerous Title IX cases and
sexual harassment trainer will discuss Sexual Harassment. 

 

This parent education event is being developed with the cooperation of
Berkeley High School and BUSD administrators who will hold a Q&A after the
speakers. For further information or if you would like to help with the

The program is very full and will begin promptly at 7:00pm.
