ADMINISTRATION

 

1. The School Safety Committee is seeking individuals to work on creating
a Safe School Plan for BHS.  The Safety Committee is a sub-committee of
the School Site Council and is charged with creating the School Safety
Plan.  If you are interested in helping create a safer BHS then the Safety
Committee is for you!  For more information come by the On Campus
Intervention Center - H104 and see Mr. McDonald.

 

SENIORS

 

1. ABC final photo date December 14th, if you want your senior portrait in
the yearbook.

 

2. Buy your senior page before break and get $25 off.  Pages start at $225
for a full page and $380 for a two page spread.  Come to H102B during 7th
period for details.  Discounts apply until Dec. 17, 2010.  Yearbooks are
still for sale at myyear.com but they are going fast.

 

COLLEGE VISITS: 

 

*1. What's up with College?  January 6, 2011 7pm in the Library.  Come
hear former BHS students and their parents discuss getting ready for all
kinds of colleges and happened after BHS.

 

SPORTS 

*1. There will be a short but important meeting of all students interested
in joining the BHS Swimming and Diving team for Spring 2011 at lunchtime
(11:45 am) on Wednesday, December 15th at the BHS competition pool.  All
interested swimmers and divers welcome.

 

EVENTS

 

1. Come to this year's fall play, A Midsummer Night's Dream, on December
17, and 18th at 7pm.  It's $12 general admission, $6 for students and sure
to be an excellent show!  Students made the costumes and did a great job
in this production.Don't miss it!

 

*2. "Sekelati" - AFRICAN AMERICAN DANCE PERFORMANCE

Thursday, Dec. 16, 2010 from 7 PM to 9 PM in Berkeley Community Theater

on BHS campus at 1980 Allston Way, Berkeley, CA 94704.

 

Spectacular and captivating performance by hundreds of BHS students with
African, Aztec, Modern, Fusion, Praise Dance, Spoken Word, Theater, and
Choral dance and music.  You will be entertained experiencing various
cultures and art forms presented by superb artists at BHS, in an
unforgettable evening of thrills and excitement.  

 

TICKETS:  $5 Student/Senior/Child, $8 General, $12 Reserved.

Families welcome.  Group rate available for 10 or more people.  Tickets in
advance at http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/139953.  

Box office opens 6 PM.  Theater doors open 6:30 PM.  

Presented by the African American Studies Department and other Performing
Arts Programs at Berkeley High School.
