On Friday of Spirit Week early risers of the Class of 2011 made it to
school at 7:30am for the traditional Senior Spell Out. 11x17 color prints
of the picture taken from the roof of the Community Theater are available
for purchase in the Leadership Office.
This simple and fun memento is only $5. Perhaps consider it as a holiday
gift for your Senior.
---
Your purchase supports the whole-school student activities and leadership
program, which includes an executive team, student senate, and class
leadership groups. The over 120 students in this program from across each
SLC receive leadership training and are responsible for Spirit Week,
Holiday Meal, all school dances, blood drives, Week of Service, student
elections, staff appreciation, cultural exhibits, presentations and
performances, relief campaigns (over $2000 raised for Pakistan Flood
Relief last week in two days!), symposia on various important issues,
leadership workshops, oversight of all student clubs and organizations,
and a host of other tasks and events The program is currently undergoing
an expansion so that it might enrich the culture and community of Berkeley
High School in ways that support student achievement and empowerment.
