Dear BHS Community Members,
As you may know, many Mexicans and Mexican-Americans observe Día de los
Muertos (Day of the Dead) on November 2. This year the Executive Student
Leadership Team, along with the help of student/parent volunteers, local
businesses, and Berkeley High staff, have set up an educational and
celebratory exhibit for our community.
Altars are set up to honor and celebrate loved ones who have passed away.
One altar being arranged is in memory of students or staff of BHS who have
left us. We encourage your students to bring items in memory of Kyle
Strang, Prentice Gray, Susan Werd, Susan Cook and others of whom we
cherish the memory to this East Gallery altar at any time beginning
Monday. If the gallery is not open on Monday at the time you arrive
please leave your item with name and contact info in the Leadership
Office.
The event will take place 1st through 6th period on Tuesday, November 2.
The altars can also be visited first through sixth period Wednesday,
November 3.
Thank you,
Zoe Oppenheim (ASB Commissioner of Multicultural Affairs), Omar Sanchez
(ASB Chief of Publicity)
