ADMINISTRATION
1. Yearbooks are on sale at myyear.com $65 dollars until October 31st.
Buy them for $70 in H102B during 7th period.
CLUBS
1. Need Tutoring hours? Join Writer's Connection and help students at King
Middle school. Improve their basic English Language skills! We meet only
once a week after school at King; we're looking for enthusiastic new tutors.
*2. Attention all singers.The BSU gospel choir will be meeting on Wednesday
at lunch in room H214. So if you can sing, please come out! Remember if
you can talk, you can sing!
*3. The BSU, Black Student Union will be meeting Tuesdays at lunch in room
H214. Please come out and show your support.
*4. Do you like treasure hunting and exploring the world? Come to the 2nd
Geocaching Club meeting this Tuesday at lunch in A205. We'll have cookies!
*5. Come meet with Students Against Texas Dirty Energy Initiative - No on
Prop 23. Find out how you can help stop the oil companies wreck
California's clean air laws. Wednesday, October 20th at lunch in room G207.
SPORTS
1. If you want to join Women's LaCrosse come to the football field Tuesday
and Thursday from 4:30 - 5:30 pm and the Derby field on Wednesdays from 6-7
pm. No experience necessary, come on out and play.
2. BHS Women's Soccer meeting, October 20, Wednesday. Meet outside of the
athletic office, by the entrance to the field at lunch. Important tryout
information and papers!
*3. Come support the girls Waterpolo team against Pinole Valley High school
at Contra Costa College at 3:30 pm. The Boys Water Polo team plays on
October 21st at 5:15pm at Contra Costa College.
*4. Come and support the Girls Volleyball team at Pinole Valley High School
at 4:30 pm. JV and Varsity play at Pinole and the freshman play St
Patrick/St Vincent in Vallejo. Both games are on Tuesday, October 19th.
5. Men's Soccer Tryouts are November 8 - 12. Pre-register for tryouts as
soon as possible. Go to http://www.futbolberkeley.com

JUNIORS/SENIORS
*Wish you could take ice skating for PE credit or that it was socially
acceptable to dance in the library? Carleton College alum and Berkeley High
Teacher Ms. Isaacson is hosting an informal Question and Answer session
this Tuesday at lunch in room C131. All are welcome.

*1. College Visits - Seniors only. Sign up in advance in the College/Career
Center and pick up a permission slip. The complete list, updated daily, is

JOBS/INTERNSHIPS
1. Youthworks Employment Program in the Department of Housing and Community
Services will accept applications beginning October 1st through November 5th
for the winter/after school program. Qualified youth ages 14 - 25. The pay
is $8 an hour. To apply you need to go in person to the Youthworks office.

2. Starry Plough is looking for several students with a great work ethic to
post promotional flyers around town, 5-10 students to work 1-2 hours per
week each. Pay is $10 an hour. If a dedicated student is interested and
reliable to work more hours, that opportunity can be discussed.
EVENTS
1. Attention All Academic Choice Parents and Guardians: We need all
Academic Choice families to participate in the upcoming 9th and 10th GRADES
POTLUCK, held on Wednesday, October 20,2010 at 6-8 pm in the Food Court.
Last names beginning with A-M please bring salads and last names beginning
with N-Z please bring desserts. We're looking to have a good time getting
to know the AC staff, counselors, students, and families. If you have any
questions please contact scmcgillcheer at att.net or 510-919-6771.
*2. Gee Wiz it's what? That's right! Shift Theater presents "Your Every
Wish," an alternative fall play. It's a story about parents not
understanding their kids and the parents trade them in for new kids. Come
to the Little Theater and check it out. October 22,23,29,or 30th at 7:00
pm. Tickets are $6 for students and senior citizens, $12 for everyone else.
