AP Biology is a college level course requiring some chemistry background knowledge.

AP students are asked to complete a summer chemistry assignment to acquire the basic chemical understanding needed to succeed in this rigorous course.

Students should complete  chapters 1 - 4 and 8 - 11 in Introduction to Chemistry for Biology Students, by George I. Sackheim (edition 7, 8, or 9) published by Benjamin Cummins.

This text  is available at many bookstores, and at Amazon and other online booksellers.

If you are having economic or logistical difficulties obtaining this text, please contact Kate Haber. She has some copies to lend.
