BHS Biotech Academy students solved a CSI-style mock murder mystery on the
Bayer HealthCare campus this past summer. They utilized lab skills learned
in the BHS Biotech Academy and new forensic science skills developed during
the summer in conjunction with their paid summer internships. They were
placed in internships by Biotech Partners, the non-profit organization that
sponsors the Academy.
Retired teacher Mark Okuda coordinated the hands-on CSI learning series
which included examining a real car modeling an actual crime scene,
collecting and analyzing evidence, and participating in a jury trial where
the summer interns served as scientific experts.
