Congratulations to Ethan Goldberg, Kyle Hamilton-Lecky, Micah Muhr, Matt
Olson and Gavin Saldanha for their very strong showing at the 2010 National
Academic Quiz Tournament championships in Chicago, IL last weekend. The
NAQT, better known as "quiz bowl", brought together the best 200 teams from
high schools across North America to compete.

Quiz Bowl tests knowledge across many subjects, including science, math,
art, history, politics, current events, popular culture and literature.

The Berkeley High team racked up seven wins and three losses in the
preliminary rounds to qualify for a strong seed position in the playoffs.
They faced tough competition in the playoff rounds, battling back from early
deficits in two games to win. Their four-round playoff run was enough to
earn them a 17th-place finish overall, putting Berkeley High among the top
20 schools in the country.

The quiz bowlers appreciate the generous support of the BHS Development
Group for the trip to Nationals.
