May 20:  TransLink Youth Card Event

AC Transit paper passes will no longer be sold as of June 30.  In order to
have the discounted AC Transit rides of $15 per month, students will need to
have TransLink Youth Card instead.  These TransLink cards can be used on AC
Transit, BART, Muni, etc, and may be loaded and reloaded with funds to cover
monthly passes or on a per-use discounted basis.  To obtain these cards,
Berkeley High students are invited to a special registration event at the
Central Berkeley Library on May 20th, from 3:30 to 5:30 pm. 

To register for a card, students should fill out an application online at
http://berkcentlibmay20.eventbrite.com, or a paper application at the actual
event.  Students will need to print out the application and come with
documentation which provides proof of age (Birth Certificate, Passport,
State ID, Military Dependent Card, Consulate Issued Documentation or Alien
Registration Card).

Remember, as of July, the TransLink Youth Card will be the only way a
student can get the heavily discounted fare of unlimited rides for 31 days
at a price of $15. 

June 30th is the last day 31-day paper passes will be sold.  July 31st is
the last day paper passes will be accepted on an AC Transit bus as fare.
