As you all know looming budget cuts at Berkeley Highs threaten athletics at BHS.

The volunteer parents at the Berkeley Athletic Fund and the Berkeley High Development Group have worked very hard this year to raise funds to keep Athletics and other vital BHS programs alive and funded for the 2009/10 and the coming fall 2010-11 school year.

We received news early last week that the $18,000 that BSEP grants the Berkeley Athletic Fund for Frosh sports at BHS will NOT be renewed for the 2010-2011 Athletic Season.
 
We are trying to offset some of the impact from the loss of the BSEP grant and continue to help the 1100 student athletes at BHS.

On Friday May 7th, the Berkeley Athletic Fund will host the Third Annual Berkeley High Golf Tournament Fundraiser.

I am writing you today because the student athletes need golfers for the Tournament as well as volunteers and donations for the raffle and our online auction. 

BAF granted close to $30K to various athletic programs so far this year at BHS including Frosh Sports. BAF wants to continue our efforts to fund programs for the student athletes at BHS.

100% of all proceeds from this golf tournament go directly to Berkeley High School Athletics and to our student athletes. Thank you all for your help in promoting and advertising the BAF golf tournament.

Please find attached BAF's flyer for our largest fundraiser - our golf tournament. Please forward to your friends and family members - as well as to your child's BHS athletic team e-trees.

The student athletes at BHS need your help and support. BAF needs support from our community, BHS sports teams and coaches.
