ADMINISTRATION

*1. Willard Mathworks training starts, February 16th in H211 at 3:45 pm. Mathworks will start again Tuesday, February 23rd from 4-5 pm at Willard Middle School. Contact Willardmathworks at gmail.com 

*2. Celebrate African American History month! Join the month-long African American Read-in by checking out one of the books on display in the library and get one of the special bookmarks. We have fiction, biographies and non-fiction for everyone's taste.

CLUBS

*1. On Thursday February 11 there will be an AHA bake sale on the senior steps at lunch. Come out and get homemade cookies, brownies and pie! This Thursday at lunch.

2. Come to the Community Theater steps at lunch to purchase your valentines grams for your friends, sweethearts and secret admirers! Only $1.50 each, proceeds go to support BHS social group.

*3. Club REACH is having a coin drive fundraiser to raise money to help end human trafficking. Bring money to your 2nd period class starting February 9th - February 26th and whichever class raises the most money earns a pizza party in their class. Do your part to free the 27 million slaves that exist around the world.

*4. Come support Biotech Academy by purchasing Valentines Day goods. Also a photobooth to take a picture with your sweetheart or friend only 5 dollars.

5. For the very first time, the BHS Chorus Club, with the assistance of the Berkeley High School Development Group, is offering a prize of $250 to the best original song written by a student. Entries must be submitted by 5pm Feb 28 2009. The winning song will be performed as part of the June 1 concert of the BHS Chorus. Entries can be in the form of written music OR CD/other computer music file OR DVD/other video format. 1. Spring Sports:
Spring sport tryouts start Monday, February 8th. You must have a completed packet with physical turned into the Athletic Director's (AD) office before tryouts. The AD office is the one story building next to Donahue Gym.

*2. Girls Lacrosse is looking for 5-10 more players to join the JV team. No experience required. It's lots of fun and a great way to stay in shape. Practices are 6:30 - 8am at the BHS turf this week.

3. Interested in Joining Berkeley's Best Spirit Squad? Join us at our annual BHS Spiritleading, Parent-Student Information meeting, Wednesday, February, 17, 2010 at 6:30pm at Berkeley High School Food Court. SENIORS

1. Senior yearbook pages are for sale until Feb.20. Come to H102b 7th period. $180 for 1 page, $350 for 2 pages.

2. Senior poll winners: come take your pictures in H102b this week. You can still buy your yearbooks at myyear.com.  We have almost sold out!

*3. Senior hoodies are in!! Represent your senior class, buy a senior hoodie $35 until Monday, Feb. 22, then it goes up to $40. These hoodies go!!

EVENTS/PERFORMANCES

*1. Valentine's Day Theatre Organ Concert in Berkeley Community Theatre at 2:30 PM. NorCal Theatre Organ Society's Sunday "POPS" Concert with organist Donna Parker on historical Wurlitzer theatre pipe organ. Complimentary tickets for BHS students, faculty & employees by presenting BHS Identification. First timers for free by providing name and address solely for the NorCal TOS' Concert & Event Mailing List. Regular tickets on day of concert - $15. Children 12 and under FREE with paid adult. *2. American idol - Want to meet a celebrity? Want to be serenaded by the American Idol runner-up? On Tuesday, February 16th at lunch on the senior steps catch pop sensation Jason Castro! That's right American Idol star Jason Castro will be giving a free performance at lunch on the senior steps, February 16th, next Tuesday!!

3. Come join the fun every Wednesday night at Berkeley Youth Alternatives- teen night, 6-8 pm. Activities include: 3 on 3 basketball tournaments (indoor); shooting pool and x-box tournaments. Contact (510) 849-1406.
