CALLING ALL SONGWRITERS!
 
  
For the very first time, the BHS Chorus Club, with the assistance of the
Berkeley High School Development Group, is offering a prize of $250 to the
best original song written by a student.

The purpose of the competition is to recognize the amazing creativity of
Berkeley High students, and  to encourage the development of excellent vocal
music at BHS.  We also want students to have fun.
 
Original song compositions may be for a vocal soloist, alone or with
accompaniment, or for a choral group of any size, alone or with
accompaniment.  Lyrics should be suitable for an audience containing
children as well as adults.  Any style is welcome. If necessary, the
external judges or BHS music staff or other volunteers will assist the
winner with arrangement, instrumentation and rehearsal for the public
performance.  

The winning song will be performed as part of the June 1 concert of the BHS
Chorus.  

Entries must be submitted by 5 pm on Feb 28, 2010 in the form of written
music or CD/other computer music file OR  DVD/other video format.   Submit
entries to:  BHS Songwriting Competition, c/o Mr Scott Dailey, Room A206H,
Berkeley High School.  Entry forms available in A206H.
