COLLEGE/CAREER CENTER

1. ESSAY WORKSHOPS - Get feedback on your draft of your college
essay/personal statement from experienced essay readers, College Center
D221. First come-first served.

2. COLLEGE VISITS
Over 100 college representatives visit Berkeley High's College/Career Center
every year. Seniors may attend up to 10 of those meetings, with the
permission of the teacher whose class they are missing. Sign up in advance
in the College/Career Center and pick up a permission slip. The complete
November list is available in the College Center D221. Juniors cannot attend
these meetings.

EVENTS/PERFORMANCES:

1. LEARN HOW TO ACT, SING, AND DANCE IN MUSICALS
Registrations forms for YMTC's "Pocket Broadway" after school workshop
begins January 6 in Berkeley.  No auditions – all students in grades 7 and
up are welcome.  Students will develop their skills as singer/actors by
focusing on selected scenes from musicals that are appropriate to their age
and level.    
Tuition: $350; tuition assistance available - inquire with registration.

2. The Berkeley Teen Program presents Thanksgiving Dinner to all Berkeley
teens and families, November 19, 2009, 6:30-8:00 pm at the West Berkeley
Senior Center-1900 6th St. Free event and food.

3. Open Mic - Hip Hop, Poetry, Spoken Word, and singing on Friday, December
4th from 6-9 pm. (for ages 12-18) Takes place at Frances Albrier Community
Center-2800 Park St.
