ADMINISTRATION

NO SCHOOL on Wednesday, November 12th - Veteran’s Day Holiday.

CLUBS

*1. Earphone English- meeting is Tuesday at lunch in C116 (since Wed. is a
Holiday).  We are beginning the countdown to November 20th.

SPORTS

*1. Please come out and show your support for the 9-0 Berkeley High Varsity
Football team vs Pinole Valley High this Friday, November 13 at 5:30.  This
will be the last league home game.  Come out and show how much spirit you
have.

2. Last Boys Soccer Tryout:
Fri, Nov. 13    3:45-6     Derby Field
Requirements:
1. You must pre-register at http://www.futbolberkeley.com 
2. You must turn in your BHS Athletic Packet to the Athletic Director. Or
bring to first tryout.
3. Grade Point Average: 2.0 minimum. Soccer team goal: 3.6 minimum.
Bring:
1. A soccer ball
2. Shorts, cleats, shin guards, socks.
3. Water
4. Lunch, on Wed. Nov 11

3. Girls Soccer Tryouts are on now:
Fri: Gabe's West 5-7 pm.
Saturday: Scrimmage at Gilman 9am-frosh/11am-jv/1pm-varsity.
Bring soccer balls, cleats, running shoes, shinguards, white and dark
t-shirts, water, and athletic packet including medical and emergency card if
you have not turned it in to the Athletic Director's office.

4. BHS Girls Basketball tryouts are on now:
Friday 4:15-6:30 Donahue gym (all levels) Sat Scrimmage
Come ready to play. Bring athletic packet including medical and emergency
card if you have not turned it in to the Athletic Director's office.

SENIORS

1. SENIORS! Want to buy a large copy of the senior spellout picture??  Come
take a look at it and purchase your own copy for only $5 in the Leadership
Office at lunch or after school. And come and get em quick - LIMITED COPIES
ARE AVAILABLE!

COLLEGE/CAREER CENTER

*1. ESSAY WORKSHOPS - Get feedback on your draft of your college
essay/personal statement from experienced essay readers, College Center
D221. First come-first served.

Common Application

2. COLLEGE VISITS
Over 100 college representatives visit Berkeley High's College/Career Center
every year. Seniors may attend up to 10 of those meetings, with the
permission of the teacher whose class they are missing. Sign up in advance
in the College/Career Center and pick up a permission slip. The complete
November list is available in the College Center D221. Juniors cannot attend
these meetings.

EVENTS/PERFORMANCES:

*1. LEARN HOW TO ACT, SING, AND DANCE IN MUSICALS
Registrations forms for YMTC's "Pocket Broadway" after school workshop
begins January 6 in Berkeley.  No auditions – all students in grades 7 and
up are welcome.  Students will develop their skills as singer/actors by
focusing on selected scenes from musicals that are appropriate to their age
and level.    
Tuition: $350; tuition assistance available - inquire with registration.

2. The Berkeley Teen Program presents Thanksgiving Dinner to all Berkeley
teens and families, November 19, 2009.  6:30 -8:00 pm at the West Berkeley
Senior Center-1900 6th St..  Free event and food.

3. Open Mic- Hip Hop, Poetry, Spoken Word, and singing on Friday, December
4th from 6-9 pm. (for ages 12-18) Takes place at Frances Albrier Community
Center-2800 Park St.
