ADMINISTRATION

*1. Remember – LATE START MONDAYS . . . school begins at 10:00 am

2. Yearbooks - Are on sale at myyear.com for $60 until September 25th then they go up to $70. Buy soon, they don't go down.

*3. BART ticket orders will be taken on Sept. 28 through the 30th at lunchtime only in room D224. Ticket price is $16.00 for a $32.00 ticket. No checks – cash only please.

4. Purchase your PE clothes at the PE office in the old gym before school and after school and during lunch. T-shirts are $10 and sweatpants are $15.

CLUBS

*1. CHORUS CLUB meets EVERY TUESDAY AND THURSDAY in A201 at lunch. Everyone is welcome to come and sing, beginners and experienced alike. Bring suggestions of songs you'd like the club to try. ALSO: CIRCLE SINGING starts THIS TUESDAY 9/29 at 4-5.30PM with Trelawny Rose from the Jazzschool, focusing on improvisation and ear-training. Again, everyone is welcome. Any questions? 2. Vocal Jazz Comes to Berkeley High: For decades, Berkeley High has had a great instrumental jazz program. Now you singers can get in on the action! Join the new Berkeley High vocal jazz ensemble--sign up with the director, Mr. Dailey, in room A206H in the music building. It's just down the hall from the band room upstairs. Rehearsals begin soon, so sign up today!

JOBS/VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

1. Mathworks training Tuesday, September 29th from 3:30 - 4:30 pm in H211. Receive tutoring credit, internship credit for middle school math tutoring.

*2. YouthWorks is the City of Berkeley's Youth Employment Program. The 2009 fall after-school program will be accepting applications from October 1st until October 31st. Interested youth are required to come in person to the Youth Works Office at 1947 Center Street, Basement, to pick up an application, starting Thursday, October 1st. 2. Students who need fee waivers: We have ACT fee waivers and SAT fee waivers. See Ms. Price or Ms. Sandberg before or after school if you need a fee waiver.

EVENTS/PERFORMANCES

1. The BHS Spring Musical will be the Broadway Hit: "The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee." Auditions coming in October. Show opens April 7th. See Mr. Winer for details!

2. Create the Artwork and design for this year's BHS Jazz t-shirt. Artwork entries are due in the band room (A105) by October 21. Voting by BHS jazz students will be October 22nd. Pick up an entry flyer in the band room today!
