I have had many requests to get BUSD performance videos onto TeacherTube. It has been problematic, but here are three great pieces uploaded for your pleasure.

(1) Berkeley High School Drama Presents  "Double Digits"

Turning ten has never been so overwhelming! DOUBLE DIGITS follows a group of ten-year-olds as they navigate the turbulent waters of the fifth grade. When power is abused for treacherous ends, the students at Brookwood Elementary must cast aside their differences to save themselves, and their school. DOUBLE DIGITS is a witty, heartfelt story complete with a gorgeous score, a fabulous cast, and thoughtful social commentary.

A New and Original Full-Length Musical by Abby Simons and Nathan Kersey-Wilson. Opening at The Florence Schwimley Little Theater on April 24th at 7:00pm.

(2) BUSD Performing Arts Showcase 2009 Video Available Now: See Sampler on
YouTube & TeacherTube

The Berkeley Unified School District's Annual Performing Arts Showcase 2009 featured student musicians from elementary, middle and high school band and orchestra; a rapidly growing choral music program and jazz and rock bands with over a thousand family members in the audience. This marked another Berkeley first when Superintendent Bill Huyett opened the showcase by singing the National Anthem.

This sampler shares the Superintendent's surprise, an all school chorale performance and the Middle School orchestra. The entire concert was recorded by Berkeley Community Media (with four cameras), and is already available for the low price of $15.
