*3. STAR Testing begins Tuesday, April 21st, through Friday, April 24th.
Please make sure you read the dates and times correctly. This test is for
9-11th graders only - Seniors report to school after the test each day.

CLUBS
*1. Join us Wednesday, April 22, in H106 for food, fun, and gardening! We
will be cooking a light meal as well as planting fresh herbs in our garden.
We will also be building a compost with the environmental science class.
FOR ALL STUDENTS
1. ST. MARY'S COLLEGE FAIR - Saturday, April 25, 1:00 pm - 4:30 pm. Come
to the St. Mary's College Fair to get information from over 150 college
representatives from around the country. Workshops on admissions and
financial aid in English and Spanish are also available. Free shuttles are
available every 15 minutes beginning at 12:30 pm from the Orinda BART

*2. Teen volunteers needed at the Museum of Children's Art in Oakland is
seeking high school age volunteers for MOCHA's 20th Birthday Party Community
Event, April 26, 10-5pm. Volunteers will be helping to run fun art-making
booths and carnival game booths. Volunteers must be responsible, ready to
work and have fun. Volunteers can sign-up for any of the following shifts:
11:30-5:30 - The Whole Shebang
10am- noon Set up only
11:30-3pm Early fun time
2:30-5:50 Afternoon blast
5:00-7pm Clean-up

Georgetown, Harvard, Penn and Stanford. Tuesday, April 28, 7:30 pm, Oakland

FOR JUNIORS
1. SAT/ACT TEST DATES -- May 5 is the regular registration deadline for the
June 6 SAT and SAT subject tests. May 8 is the regular registration deadline
for the June 13 ACT. These are the last tests offered before September
2009. Fee waivers for low income students are available in D221.
FOR SENIORS
1. FRESNO STATE - Are you planning on attending Fresno State or were
admitted and have questions about the school? Come to a meeting on Thursday,
April 23 at 10:35 in the College/Career Center to speak with an admissions
representative from the school. Sign up in advance in D221 to attend.
SUMMER ACTIVITIES
1. The Museum of Children's Art in Oakland is seeking high school age
volunteers for the summer arts day camp apprentice program. Volunteers
should be interested in working with young children (6-10 yrs) and art.
During camp, volunteers will assist the art instructors and supervise
campers during recess and field trips. Camp runs June 15-Aug 21.
Volunteers work half-day shifts for a minimum of two weeks of their choice

EVENTS
1. Senior prom tickets are $65. Buy your tickets in D173. Guest passes
are available in D148. Prom is May 9, 2009.
*2. MORP is April 24th from 7:00 - 11:00 pm at the BHS Cafeteria. The
tickets will be sold at the door. $8 if you wear Black and White, and $10 if
you don't. We will have a live performance and be selling food at this
event. Please come out and party!
*3. World Premiere of an original musical written by BHS seniors Nathan
Kersey-Wilson and Abby Simons opens at BHS this Friday night at 7pm!! The
musical is called DOUBLE DIGITS and follows a group of students who must
cast aside their differences when power at their school is abused for
treacherous ends. DOUBLE DIGITS is a witty, heartfelt story with a gorgeous
score. Come see your fellow students perform in this fun high energy show
this Friday and Saturday at 7pm and Sunday at 2 pm in the Little Theatre.
The cost is $6 for BHS students and staff. The show continues through the
first weekend of May. Don't miss this student-written, directed and
performed musical world premiere!
*4. High School Musical 2 - On Stage seeks Dancers and Singers!! Ages 14
and Up. Auditions: Sat. April 25. Time: 1 - 5 p.m. Location: St. Teresa's
Church, 4850 Clarewood Drive, Oakland CA. Please prepare a one minute song,
a two minute monologue and be dressed to dance! By Appointment Only! Call
Today: 510-969-8375. Rehearsals will start in late April, performances will
be two weekends in June at the Del Valle Theatre in Walnut Creek. Rehearsals
will be in Oakland.
