This Sunday, March 15, we will be having an amazing event to
celebrate Jazz at BHS

Top jazz recording artists - all Berkeley HS graduates - are flying to
the Bay Area from across the United States. They are doing this as a
tribute to retiring director Charles Hamilton (musical director of BHS
Jazz for the past 27 years) and to support the BHS Jazz Program!!

This historic reunion will also celebrate the amazing legacy of the
BHS Jazz program. Over 40 alums spanning the past 30+ years will
attend and perform at this unique concert.

Peter Apfelbaum is coming from N.Y. to be the musical director and is
bringing together alums from near and far: Rodney Franklin, Steven
Bernstein, Jessica Jones, Will Bernard, Dave Ellis, Josh Jones, Dayna
Stevens, Hitomi Oba, Kito Gamble and dozens more alums from BHS will
be performing.

The BHS Jazz program has thrived since 1966 due to the support that
Jazz has received by the Berkeley community throughout the years. The
experience many students had at BHS has sparked careers and passions
in so many musicians. Dr. Herbert Wong who was instrumental in
conceiving this program will be there. This will be a one of a kind
afternoon concert!!! Greg Bridges, local jazz radio personality will
be master of ceremonies. There will be many tributes given and
amazing performances by so many talented musicians who studied at
Berkeley High.
