1.1-A Approval of Berkeley High Redesign Proposal Recommendations A Through E

The Board approved staff recommendations A through E from Superintendent Huyett and Principal Jim Slemp, for the proposed redesign of Berkeley High School. The recommendations include changes in the timeline, so that staff development will proceed in 2009-10 and the new Advisory classes and scheduling changes will begin in the 2010-11 school year. The Board also changed the proposal's language from "Block Scheduling" to "Alternative Scheduling," and stated that there are still aspects of the proposal that will be up for future Board study and discussion.
